Cookie policy

1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in the visitor’s browser to remember information about their visit. Their use is regulated by Article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI-CE and by data protection law.
2. Cookies used on this site
Technical or necessary cookies. Essential for the website to work and exempt from prior consent. There are two:
- Contact form security. WordPress generates a temporary token that prevents fraudulent submissions. It only comes into play when the form is sent and it does not identify anyone.
- es_consent. Stores your answer to the cookie notice —accept or reject— for 180 days, so you are not asked again on every page. It belongs to eatingstories.org. After that period you are asked again.
Analytics cookies. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to know, in aggregate and without identifying anyone, how many people visit, where they come from and which pages they read. It is used to decide which content is worth expanding and which is not working.
These cookies are only installed if you press «Accept». If you press «Reject», or keep browsing without touching the notice, Google’s code is never even downloaded: no cookie, no connection to Google and no record of your visit. They are:
- _ga — distinguishes browsers so the same person is not counted twice. Lifetime: 13 months.
- _ga_TY7HTS3X6L — keeps the measurement session state. Lifetime: 13 months.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area; Google states that it relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses. You can read their information in Google’s privacy policy.
Measurement is configured with Google signals and ad personalisation switched off. This site uses no advertising, remarketing or commercial profiling cookies, and does not sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes.
3. Managing your choice
The first time you visit, a notice appears at the bottom of the screen with two options of the same size and the same visibility: Accept and Reject. It is not a wall: you can read the whole site without choosing either, and nothing is installed while you do not choose.
You can change your mind at any time through the «Cookie settings» link in the footer of every page. Reopening the notice lets you reject what you previously accepted.
If you reject after having accepted, this site stops sending information to Google immediately. Cookies already installed can be deleted from your browser’s privacy settings, which also allow you to block them altogether. Note that disabling technical cookies may prevent parts of the site from working properly.
4. Third-party cookies
Apart from Google Analytics under the conditions described above, this site loads no external services: fonts and images are served from its own domain. If third-party content —a video, for example— is embedded at some point, that platform’s own cookie policy will also apply, independently of this one.
5. Updates
This policy is updated whenever the cookies used or the applicable regulations change. Last reviewed: August 2026.
